We're here!!!

Well its finally happened, we landed at Chicago yesterday afternoon and following a short cab ride were at our hotel.

Chicago is an interesting place, with elevated train tracks (the 'L') and lots of river bridges etc. But between arriving yesterday and getting up this morning, well, things seemed not to go quite so well. Between huge blisters/not having enough time/ and having to go all the way back to Best Buy (electrical shop) twice when we should be doing tourist things because of getting the wrong item blah blah blah.

Anyway, we got to Chicago Harley Davidson at 9 30 this moring, and spent a while drinking coffee and waiting for the rental man to sort thinks out. By 11 30 we were on the road. From that point on no looking back, a lot of pics from sightseeing stops along the way, and a few hundred miles of road! We're now in bed and will be asleep the moment i hit the send key. But as we didnt get here in time for Skype chat with family, thought we'd give a little update!

Harley Davidson Road King classic

So, we didn't want our first ride on a Harley to be when we arrived for our RT66 journey. We booked a test ride from Leeds Harley Davidson!

They didn't have a Glide so we took the nearest equivalent, a few minutes in and the good old british weather turned up ... argh.


I dont think it suits me, but it ought to be rather comfy for so many miles in the saddle!
